Honduras Marcala
Honduras Marcala
Central America | Light Roast
This light roast brings all of that care and intention to the cup.
Café Orgánico Marcala (COMSA) was founded in 2001 by 69 small-scale farmers in Honduras who wanted more control over their coffee—and their future. By banding together, they were able to export directly and avoid selling at a loss to local coyotes (middlemen who show up when times are tough).
Now 1,600 members strong, COMSA is known for producing high-quality coffee with an equally strong focus on community development—especially through educational programs for women and youth. Their farming methods follow the 5 Ms of organic agriculture: Organic Matter, Micro-Organisms, Minerals, fermented Live Molecules, and Grey Matter (yes, brainpower).
Tasting notes: blackberry, apricot, honey, and sweet cream. Bright, fruit-forward, and polished, with a finish that’s smooth but never heavy.
Light Roast | Central America | Elevation: 3973 - 5741ft
